The new Magnetic Wooden Trivet (buy it: $50, Le Creuset) is made of solid acacia wood with a magnet that keeps the trivet attached to your Dutch oven as soon as you touch it to the surface. Just set it on the counter next to your range for hands-free access anytime you're trying to pull a hot metal dish off of the heat.

Since the magnet keeps the trivet attached even as you walk over to the dinner table, this accessory is a must-have for times when you're in a rush trying to get dinner on the table, whether it's a busy weeknight or a food-focused holiday. And you don't even have to worry about the wood damaging the finish on your pot—the three rings of silicone on the top of the trivet provide a little cushion for your favorite piece of heirloom-worthy cookware.
